— EMS Operation Starts from May at Coco Walk Bus Center —

eMotion Fleet Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO Shuji Shiraki and CTO Dennis Ilic; hereinafter "eMotion Fleet"), an one-stop EV fleet solution provider, is pleased to announce the launch of its proprietary Energy Management System (hereinafter "EMS") for Nagasaki Bus operated by Nagasaki Motor Bus Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinchimachi, Nagasaki City; hereinafter “Nagasaki Bus”) with operations scheduled to begin in May 2026.

This initiative will be implemented at the Coco Walk Bus Center operated by Nagasaki Bus, which runs bus services in Nagasaki. The project manages smart charging of domestically manufactured EV bus and charging infrastructure on the cloud, enabling optimization of electricity costs (peak shaving), improved operational efficiency, and decarbonization.

■ Background and Objectives

For Nagasaki Bus, this marks its first introduction of EV buses. As EV bus adoption expands across Japan, it is becoming increasingly important not only to deploy hardware but also to optimize energy operations. By utilizing the EMS, the company aims to maximize operational efficiency and economic performance of EV buses while establishing a sustainable operations. To achieve this, eMotion Fleet’s EMS has been selected for its advanced energy control capabilities linked with operational planning.

■ eMotion Fleet EMS Key Features

1.     Visualization of Charging Status

The system provides centralized visibility of each vehicle’s charging status and history, supporting daily operations and analysis.

2.     Optimized Charging Schedule Control

Flexible charging schedules can be configured in line with operational plans while reducing peak electricity demand.

3.     Automatic Recovery from Disruptions

Even in the event of power outages or momentary voltage drops, charging automatically resumes, reducing the risk of incomplete charging.

4.     Alerts to Prevent Missed Charging

The system detects delays or failures in starting charging and sends notifications, helping to prevent human error.

5.     Automatic Restoration after Emergency Handling

Settings changed during irregular situations are automatically restored to normal, ensuring stable operations.

■ Future Outlook

Based on the operational results of this project, eMotion Fleet will reinforce its solutions for the advanced automation of increasingly complex EV fleet operations and energy management. We will continue to support Nagasaki Bus’s electric bus fleet expansion and strengthen fleet electrification efforts in the Kyushu region, contributing to the profitable green mobility from the ground up.
